In this episode of Linguini’s Dough, we go into some of the stuff our guest Carmen struggles with, this ranges from how she feels from day to day, anxiety, addiction, and even sexual assault. Please keep any comments respectful.
The first part of this episode, we get know a little bit about Carmen. She tells us a bit about some of her day to day struggles. Some days its hard to wake up, others day its a piece of cake. She does not have a lot of friends, but she is close with three, and they are strong. She also has a little bit of social anxiety, which made going to school hard (no longer in it).
Next, we talk about the sexual assault she has experienced in her life, and how that has affected her. It started happening when she was moving from Mexico to the US. Her uncle took advantage of her for 5-6 years. This affects her in lots of ways, but one of them is she feels a weight on her, a type of shame that she does not deserve. It took away lots of her hope and innocence. Truly heartbreaking that someone could do that to her, and I hope the worst for her uncle.
Finally, one of the last big points we talk about in this show is how she smokes pot. She likes it because it distracts her, and puts her mind at rest; it even helps to sleep at night. When she spends time with other people, she prefers if they do as well, its a way for her to connect with others. Carmen was introduced when she was 10, so its been present for a while in her life.
