In this episode of Linguini’s Dough (ft. Grady Cool), we talk about dealing with Arthritis and the mental state of depression that followed Grady through his college years, too building his confidence and finding new friends during college. Onto the ending segment.
The first part of the interview, we get to know a little bit about Grady. He runs a YouTube channel related to finances along side a podcast where they dive more into these and include many different guests. He has been making YouTube in some form since he was 10. It helped him with his fear of public speaking, and doing toast masters, which is basically where you get with a group and practice speeches. getting better and better.
Next, we talk about how in sophomore year Grady took a door to door sales gig. This did further his public speaking experience by miles to come, but not without headache. During this trial, he found out he had a form of undiagnosed arthritis. If it hasn’t clicked yet, door to door involves using your joints all day, so this became especially hard for him. The weather going from blazing hot, and sweat all down his body to the nonstop rain was a way to make it slightly harder than it needed to be as well. The good that came from it, is he did increase his confidence lots!
After he had finished his summer with D2D sales, and his arthritis did not go away, it made him feel very very down. He got depressed, and that hole kept getting deeper and deeper. Eventually he worked on himself, and now has an amazing girlfriend, did a decent amount of therapy, and really got himself in a good spot.
