My Joycon Repair Review

My joycons have been giving me issues with the motion sensors, so I decided to take advantage of Nintendo’s free joycon repair service.  I assumed it was the right red joycon that was giving me issues because that has the visible IR sensor. The start of this process was requesting the repair, and on that same day they emailed me a return label for UPS.  I dropped the joycons off at UPS and a few days later Nintendo received it.  Fast foward another couple days, and I got it back at my house. When I got the joycons, they were not replaced because the scratches I had on it before were still there, but aside from those they cleaned it spotless.  It felt nice using what felt like new joycons.  The post repair documentation had checked that they had verified the issues with my joycon, but could not replicate the problem.  Another box confirmed they replaced any problems they suspected where the issue. I went to go test Zelda BOTW for the motion sensor, and it still didn’t work.  After spending a week getting it all sent in, and still nothing.  I called Nintendo to let them know still having issues, they just went through the standard stuff you find on the website.  Only thing new I didn’t try was calibrating, and when I tried it failed.  I decided to try one more time, so I went through the same process again. Nintendo made this process very easy, so I wasn’t super mad about resending them in.  The second time sending it in, was just as easy as the first.  This time when I got the repair paper with the joycons, they only checked the one box saying they were not able to duplicate the problem.  I am not sure if they were supposed to select both again. I opened Zelda BOTW once again, and this time it worked. I was relieved because I really didn’t want to try again.  I can now happily game on my Switch…. not that I really have time to game lol
